Your family-run hotel in the Dolomites
Holidays like at home at Kronplatz
The Hotel Corona is the most traditional inn in San Vigilio. Built in 1505 by the knight Giovanni da Ras, the house served for a long time as the seat of justice for the surrounding lands. Since 1772, it has stood as a popular village inn for refined hospitality. The Corona has been in the hands of the Frenner family for over 100 years, and you could say they are innkeepers by vocation - now in their 7th generation.
History & Tradition
make the hotel unique
Here in the Dolomite valleys, the millennia-old Ladin language and culture have been preserved. In the language of the locals, the Dolomite village of St. Vigil is called "Al Plan de Mareo". In the South Tyrolean Dolomites, Ladin is spoken by about 18,000 people in addition to German and Italian.
From an inn, the Corona, in Ladin "Ciasa dal Cone", has been transformed into a contemporary wellness hotel that radiates peace and strength and where people who are fascinated by the Dolomites like to spend their holidays. Some of the rooms are still reminiscent of old times, the knight's parlour with its open fireplace or the parlour with its parquet panelling. Not to forget the wood-panelled restaurant with its farm oven.
He himself was born and raised within the walls of the Corona. He is a nature person, loves his mountains, is an enthusiastic motorcyclist and has a profound knowledge of crystals & gemstones. Direct contact and active care of the guests are particularly important to him. As a professional hotelier as well as a local & expert consultant, he inspires his guests anew every time!
