Biking & Downhill
Varied mountain bike trails of all levels of difficulty make the hearts of all bikers beat faster and make the Dolomites one of the most popular mountain bike areas in the world. Over 600 kilometres of mountain bike trails around San Vigilio offer optimal conditions for beginners and professionals alike. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view.
The well-known mountain bike race "Transalp Challenge" regularly stops here in the Dolomites and the route through the Fanes area is one of the most popular stages. Kronplatz was a stage destination of the Giro d'Italia Tour of Italy in 2006 and 2010.
Many routes, day or multi-day tours were recorded using GPS. The roadbooks, GPS tracks and detailed route descriptions of all the tours on offer can be obtained from the tourist office in San Vigilio. In addition, guided mountain bike tours in the Dolomites are offered here in San Vigilio on a regular basis. We will gladly inform you about the current programme.
No less than 6 routes are available to downhillers at Plan de Corones and Piz de Plaies: one easy to moderately difficult route, two with medium difficulty and three difficult routes for freeride professionals. So an adrenaline-filled descent is guaranteed! Let's rock! If you don't feel quite confident on your bike yet, you can book one of the qualified freeride guides of the Bikeschool St. Vigil.
