Amethyst
The crystal effect
The name of this violet crystal is derived from the ancient Greek word for "sober". Amethyst is said to have a clarifying effect. It is said to promote friendship and inspire trust. For centuries it was considered the stone of bishops and cardinals and is often found in Christian jewellery. It has a long-term calming effect and promotes inner peace.
